'I respect the elderly'

LET'S talk about 'Temptation Island,' a remake of the campy film about five sexy females stranded in an island.

Produced by Regal Films 30 years ago and even made into a stage play, this is producer Mother Lily Monteverde's tribute to director Joey Gosengfiao whom she considers a dear friend.

'Temptation Island' is a classic of a movie, a one of its kind which every gay individual can relate to. But it is not a gay movie. The lingo as well as the presence of gorgeous hunks makes it a big favorite among the gay crowd. It is still being talked today when shown on Skycable.

The 2011 version has Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff and Rufa Mae Quinto cast as sexy models competing for the Manila Sunshine Supermodel title until the sea disaster occurred. What follows is a series of tittilating events both funny and outrageous.

Expect trouble erupting in 'Temptation Island' long after the innovative and most sought-after director Chris Martinez shouted 'cut' with Marian and Heart as the principal players.

The stranded hunks are portrayed by Aljur Abrenica, Mikael Daez and Tom Rodriguez who, for the larger part of the movie, is seen only in his red briefs.

Dennis Trillo makes a special appearance as Cristina's boy toy.

“Temptation Island” circa 2011 has a generous servings of sex, glamor, romance and spicy dialogues for the original fans and specially so for the new generation viewing the movie for the first time.

By the way, the press launch was dominated by Marian Rivera who cried while explaining her side regarding the rift between her and Heart Evangelista (who plays the virginal character named Virginia) and ending it with a quote: "Pinalaki ako ng lola ko na may respeto sa nakakatanda."
Ouch.
